1. Who we are
This website is run by Persmon Technologies Limited, a company registered in Uganda, with offices at Mukwano Courts, William Street, Kampala, Uganda ("Persmon", "we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data collected through this website and through Persmon Marketing at marketing.persmontechnologies.com.

2. What we collect and why

We use your data because you asked us to (to answer you or prepare a quote), because you consented (newsletter, analytics), or because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our website. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who processes your data
- Our own servers. The website and our content system run on a virtual private server we manage, rented from Hostinger in its United Kingdom data centre. Form submissions and CVs are stored there in our own content management system and database, which only authorised staff can access after signing in. CVs are kept as private files that are never published.
- Email. Notifications and replies are sent through our business email provider, Hostinger.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Google Maps (Google LLC), through the map embedded on our contact page.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us there. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy then applies.
Because our server is in the United Kingdom and Google may process data in other countries, your data may be transferred outside Uganda. We only use providers that protect data with security measures appropriate to the information they hold.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries, briefs and audit requests: for as long as we are in contact with you, and afterwards as part of our business records.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Job applications: up to 12 months after the application, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Server logs: kept for a short period for security, then deleted.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time (section 6).
5. Cookies and analytics
We store two small preferences in your browser that do not track you: your light or dark theme, and your cookie choice (and, on the pricing page, your currency). These are necessary for the site to remember what you picked.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years. Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you click Accept analytics. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set, and any existing ones are removed. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies.
Our contact page embeds a Google Maps map of our office. It loads from Google when you view that page, so Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. The “Get directions” link takes you to Google’s website if you choose to follow it.
The quote builder at /get-a-quote/ remembers the project choices you tick (such as the type of project, pages and features, but not your name or contact details) in your browser’s session storage, so they are not lost if you move between pages. This stays on your device and is cleared when you close the browser tab.
You can change your choice at any time using (also in the footer of every page).
6. Your rights
Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and similar laws elsewhere, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data, or stop using it for a particular purpose;
- stop sending you marketing at any time.
Email info@persmontechnologies.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda (pdpo.go.ug).
7. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Our servers use a firewall, key-based access only and nightly backups, and staff access to submissions is limited by role.
8. Other websites
Our projects page links to websites we built for clients. Those sites are run by their owners, and their own privacy policies apply.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be shown on the home page for a reasonable period.
